Meridian Community College Welcomes Ryan Mounce as New Head Tennis Coach

Meridian, MS – Meridian Community College (MCC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ryan Mounce as the new head coach for both the men's and women's tennis teams. Ryan takes over from TJ Carter, who has skillfully led the MCC tennis programs for the past four years.

Ryan Mounce brings a distinguished background in tennis to MCC, having played at Oxford High School and serving as Vice President of the Ole Miss Club team. As an assistant coach at Lafayette High School under the mentorship of renowned coach Debbie Swindol, Ryan has been instrumental in leading the Lafayette Commodores to four state championships. His leadership and expertise have been pivotal in the team's success.

In addition to his coaching roles, Ryan is an experienced tennis professional at the Oxford Park Commission and has dedicated time as a personal trainer and wellness center staff member at the YMCA. His experience in personal training and player development uniquely positions him to propel the MCC Eagles to new achievements.

Sander Atkinson, Athletic Director at Meridian Community College, stated, "Ryan brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, which will be invaluable in continuing the tradition of excellence at MCC. We are excited to see where his leadership will take our tennis programs."

Ryan Mounce expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, saying, "I'd like to thank MCC Athletic Director Sander Atkinson, the interview committee, and MCC President Dr. Huebner for allowing me to step into this role. I would also like to thank Coach Debbie Swindol of Lafayette High School for providing me with so much guidance and mentorship as a coach and person over the last four years."
