MCC Golfers Earn National Honors as Eagles Head into Championship Play

PLYMOUTH, Indiana – Two Meridian Community College golfers are receiving national recognition as the Eagles prepare to compete in the 2025 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship at Swan Lake Resort.

Sophomore Bruce McClung and freshman Jace Duckworth were both honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) with prestigious postseason awards. The GCAA announced the 2025 NJCAA Division II PING All-America and All-Region Teams on May 19.

McClung earned a spot on the Second Team All-America, while Duckworth was named to the Honorable Mention All-America list. Both players were also selected to the NJCAA DII PING All-Region Team South. In addition, Duckworth received an extra distinction as one of the top newcomers in the country, being named to the 2025 All-Freshman Team.

"These accolades speak volumes about the talent, dedication, and work ethic of our student-athletes," said MCC Head Coach, Lance Strickland. "We're incredibly proud of Bruce and Jace and excited to see them lead us into the national championship."

Currently ranked #7 in the NJCAA national rankings and the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA DII Coaches Poll, the MCC Golf Team is competing in the 4-round national tournament from May 20-23. The tournament tees off daily at 7:00 a.m., with Meridian's players starting their first round at 10:30 a.m. on opening day.

Representing Meridian Community College in Round 1 are:

  • Bruce McClung (Sophomore, Tishomingo) – 10:30 a.m.

  • Jace Duckworth (Freshman, Tuscaloosa, AL) – 10:39 a.m.

  • Dax Reaux (Freshman, Breaux Bridge, LA) – 10:48 a.m.

  • Maddox Atkinson (Sophomore, Collinsville) – 10:57 a.m.

  • Collin Russell (Sophomore, Cleveland) – 11:06 a.m.
