Entering his second season as head coach of the Meridian Community College men’s soccer program, Diego Figueroa is focused on building a strong foundation for the Eagles. In his first season at MCC during 2024-25, Figueroa led the men’s soccer team to a playoff berth, setting the stage for continued growth in the program.

Prior to joining MCC, Figueroa served as head coach at National Park College, where he led the Nighthawks to a historic season with a 12-1-3 record. Under his leadership, the team earned its first-ever national ranking, finishing 19th in the nation, and captured the Region 2 Championship for the first time in school history. His success at National Park highlighted his ability to build competitive teams and guide programs to new heights.

Figueroa is also familiar with the MACCC, having served as an assistant coach at Pearl River Community College during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. While at Pearl River, he helped the Wildcats achieve their highest-ever national ranking at No. 3 in the country and was instrumental as recruiting coordinator, bringing in the highest-ranked recruiting class in school history.

Originally from Texas, Figueroa is known for his expertise in strategy, player development, and game-day tactics. His vision for MCC soccer focuses on providing student-athletes with opportunities to succeed on the field and in the classroom, preparing them to continue their careers at four-year institutions. He is committed to building a program that contributes to the growth of soccer within Mississippi and elevates the competitiveness of the MACCC.

Figueroa and his wife, Jenna, are proud to be part of the MCC family and the Meridian community.
