Sports Ochsner Rush Sports Medicine provides athletic training services for Meridian Community College. The Athletic Training Room is located on the ground floor of Ivy Hall under the Graham Gymnasium and is equipped with Electric Stimulation, Ultrasound, Moist Heat Packs, Ice, Taping Tables, Hot and Cold whirlpool tub, and Defibrillator. The MCC Athletic Training Room is staffed by certified athletic trainer, Christopher L. Haralson, MS, ATC/L.

 

 

 

MCC Athletic Trainer

Entering into his 15th season at Meridian Community College the Head Athletic Trainer is Christopher Haralson. Christopher is a Certified Athletic Trainer that works in conjunction with the Rush Sports Medicine team providing coverage for all 11 NJCAA teams at MCC. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Master’s of Science degree in Sports Administration from Mississippi State University. After Graduate School Christopher went to work for the Rush Sports Medicine team where he covered East Mississippi Community College (2002-2005) Forest High School (2005-2007) and now Meridian Community College. Christopher is certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification and is licensed by the State of Mississippi. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the State Games of Mississippi. 

Christopher currently teaches HPR 2733 8A Introduction to Athletic training, HPR 2723 8A5, Treatment and Prevention of Athletic Injuries,  and HPR 2711 8AH Medical Terminology for Meridian Community College He has also taught HPR 1313, Introduction to Physical Education, and HPR 2213, First Aid and CPR.
