
MERIDIAN - Ethan Dyess wins the Tommy Snell Award with the low scoring average in the state. Ethan had a conference low 72.46 scoring average, more than a stroke ahead of second place.
Ethan started the season by winning his first two events. He shot a 71 at the District D Preview at Deerfield Country Club and then a -6 138 at The MACCC Event #1 at Shilo Ridge Golf Club.
Ethan then had back-to-back second-place finishes at MACCC event's #2 and #3.
Dyess bounced back at MACCC Event #4 at Wolf Hollow Golf Club with a first-place score of +1 145, leading the Eagles to their only tournament win of the season.
Ethan finished the season strong winning the final MACCC Event at Quail Hollow Golf Club, shooting a -5, 139.
MCC clinched a spot in the NJCAA District D Tournament at Reunion Country Club in Madison, MS, April 27-28. The top two teams in the district tournament will advance to the NJCAA Div II National Championship at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, IN, May 18-21.
Dyess, along with Diego Leslie, have already qualified for the national tournament as individuals.
