
PLYMOUTH, IN - MCC golf finishes 11th at the NJCAA National Golf Tournament at Swan Lake Golf Resort.
The NJCAA's DII is their largest division in terms of teams and players. Approximately 35 to 40 programs nationwide and about 125 competitors competed for 6 full days.
On day one, MCC scored 297, led by Lexton Ford and Hayes Hinson, who both shot a team-low 73. Luke Yokum shot a 74, Wesley Pippens shot a 76, and Noah Bumgarner shot an 81. The team finished in 10th place after day one.
On day two, Ford shot another 73, Hayes Hinson shot 74, Bumgarner shot 75, Pippins shot an 81, and Yokum shot an 85 for a team total of 307 and remained in 10th place.
On day three, Ford shot 73 for the third consecutive day. Hayes Hinson shot 79, Pippins shot a 77, Bumgarner shot 78, and Yokum shot an 80 for a team total of 308 and remained in 10th place.
In the final round, Lexton Ford shot 74, Bumgarner shot 76, Hinson shot 78, Pippens shot 80, and Yokum shot an 84 for a team total of 308 and finished the tournament in 11th place.
Before day one of the tournament, the 2023 NJCAA Division II PING All-America and All-Region Teams were announced by the GCAA. Noah Bumgarner and Lexton Ford were named to the NJCAA Division II Ping All-Region Team East.
