MCC places fourth at first MACCC event of the season

WEST POINT, Mississippi – The MCC Eagles placed fourth in the inaugural MACCC event of the season, which took place at the Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point during the East Mississippi Invitational Golf Tournament

The Eagles finished with a two-day total of 628 (322-306). East Central won the team title with 619 (306-313), five shots ahead of second place Northeast Mississippi at 624. Co-Lin finished third with a 627 (314-313), followed by Jones College at 639 (320-319). Other team scores included East Mississippi 647 (337-310), Itawamba 663 (345-318), Hinds 677 (335-342), Southwest Mississippi 689 (343-346), and Pearl River 774 (383-391).


Individually, MCC was led by freshman Carson Darby (+7) 79-72, who tied for third place and made the All-Tournament team. Wesley Pippins was (+14) 80-78, Maddox Atkinson was (+15) 83-76, and Colin Russell was (+23) 87-80. Playing as individuals, Dawson Hester was (+21)84-81, and Ezequiel Garcia was (+25) 85-84.


The Eagles will are on the course October 2-3 at the East Central Invitational at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Philadelphia.
