MCC Hosts Successful "A Night With MCC Baseball" Event

MERIDIAN, MS - Meridian Community College held its annual "A Night With MCC Baseball" on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at The Quave on the MCC campus. This highly anticipated event not only serves as a fundraiser for the MCC baseball program but also offers the community an opportunity to meet the players and gain insights from prominent baseball coaches in Mississippi.

More than 125 attendees, including families, friends, and MCC supporters, gathered to show their enthusiasm for Eagles Baseball. The evening began with Robby Atkinson, the voice of the Eagles, welcoming the crowd and introducing MCC faculty and staff. Following Atkinson, MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner addressed the audience, reflecting on the growth and evolution of the baseball program over the years.

Head Coach Dillon Sudduth took the stage to introduce the 2025 team, sharing updates on exciting facility enhancements before transitioning to the highlight of the evening: the "Hot Stove" Q&A session. Joining Coach Sudduth were three distinguished guests: Carl Lafferty (Ole Miss), Jake Gautreau (Mississippi State), and Travis Creel (Southern Miss). These seasoned coaches and recruiting coordinators engaged in an insightful discussion, tackling trending topics such as NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) and the possibility of community college years not affecting Division I eligibility.

The event not only celebrated MCC baseball but also deepened connections within the local baseball community, fostering excitement for the upcoming season.

MCC Baseball will kick off its 2025 season on Friday, January 31, in Panama City, Florida, competing in the PG JUCO Classic. For season passes and tickets to all home games, visit mcceagles.com/tickets.
