MCC’s Peyton Fowler and Brennon Wright Earn MACCC Weekly Honors

MERIDIAN, Miss. — Meridian Community College Baseball swept this week's Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) awards as sophomore pitcher Peyton Fowler was named MACCC Pitcher of the Week and sophomore second baseman Brennon Wright earned MACCC Position Player of the Week honors after standout performances.

Fowler delivered a career-defining outing on Tuesday, March 18, leading the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over the 21st-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs at Scaggs Field. The right-hander pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits, walking none, and striking out 12 batters. His dominant performance against the nationally ranked Bulldogs helped MCC improve to 19-11 overall and 6-2 in MACCC conference play.

Meanwhile, Wright, a sophomore from Starkville, Mississippi, put together a stellar week at the plate. He hit .444 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 9 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases. Wright's highlight came in game one against Mississippi Delta, where he hit for the cycle in a dominant 29-9 Eagles victory.

Their performances for the week helped MCC improve to 19-11 overall and 6-2 in MACCC conference play. The Eagles continue MACCC action this week, traveling to face 10th-ranked Jones College on Wednesday, March 26 in Ellisville, Mississippi.
