MCC has remained one of the MACCC’s premier programs, earning postseason berths and consistently finishing at the top of MACCC standings with an overall MACCC winning percentage of 76% as head coach.

With 355 wins over the course of his 11 full seasons, the Eagles have been a model of consistency, averaging 32 wins a year during Sudduth’s tenure. During his 18 years coaching at MCC, the Eagles have one Region 23 championship, have finished Region 23 runner-up three times, and added an MACCC Tournament championship.

Sudduth has overseen over to 3,000,000 dollars’ worth of additions and facility renovations throughout his time at MCC. The Smith-Williams Fieldhouse features a big league-style player’s clubhouse, coaches' offices, and a traditional room honoring all the former Eagles. Also, a new hitting and pitching facility was constructed, and covered chair back grandstands, state-of-the-art lighting system, and infield turf have all been completed since being named head coach.

In 18 total seasons at MCC, Sudduth has coached 10 All-Americans, 42 Academic All-Americans, had a 2 player selected to represent the NJCAA USA National Team, coached the school’s all-time leader in single-season and career home runs, a Ferris Award winner, signed a first-round MLB Draft pick, and had numerous All-Conference honorees. 181 players have gone on to four-year schools and 35 players have been drafted by Major League Baseball during Sudduth’s time at MCC.

Sudduth’s program has taken pride in classroom success and community service. The Eagles have never had under a 3.0 team GPA in his tenure, finishing fourth in the NJCAA in 2018. His teams have accumulated over 200 community service hours annually and were named the Special Olympics Volunteers of the Year in 2015. Sudduth, along with team chaplains Justin Busby and Chris Thomas, has led nearly 25 players on short-term mission trips to the Dominican Republic during off seasons and is a sought-after speaker for FCA events.

Originally from Madison, Miss., he was a two-sport star in football and baseball at Madison Central HS. Was part of a football state championship as a quarterback and a baseball state championship as a shortstop. Sudduth was a two-time All-State selection at shortstop.

He began coaching as a student assistant after completing his collegiate playing career at Southeastern Louisiana under Jay Artigues, where he was a two-year starter as an infielder in 2006-07. As a senior, Sudduth was voted “Teammate of the Year” by his peers. Before his time in Hammond, Sudduth was a middle infielder for two years at MCC under Mike Federico, the current Louisiana-Monroe head coach, and Chad Caillet, a former top assistant at South Carolina.
