Both teams struggled early in the first half, but the Lions would score first and control much of the half. Leading 25-17 with 4:22 left the Lions would switch to a 2-3 zone against the Eagles. This seemed to be the spark the Eagles needed. The Eagles hit 4 3 point baskets down the stretch to take a 36-28 lead into the locker room. Iverson Smith had 14 of his team high 17 points in the first half.
The Lions came out of halftime with a renewed energy and quickly took the lead back. Just 4 minutes into the 2nd half the Lions lead 49-42. The Lions remained in control for the rest of the game, lead by Jokorie Smith, who had a game high 29 points. However, the Eagles had one more big push in them at the end of the game. The Eagles would hit 3 3 point baskets and some free throws down the stretch to cut the lead to 1 with 38 seconds left, 71-70. Unfortunately the Lions would make a pair of free throws and defend the Eagles final attempt and end the game at 73-70.
Behind Smith's 17 points, Justin Brown had 16, Tyler Williams had 11, and Alvarez Powell had 10.
