MERIDIAN, MS - The Eagles secured their first conference win of the season with a thrilling 70-65 victory over Mississippi Delta Community College.

The Eagles (8-10, 1-2 MACCC) came out firing, building an impressive 22-4 lead over the Trojans (7-9, 0-3 MACCC) midway through the first half. Maintaining their dominance, Meridian took a commanding 39-21 advantage into the halftime break.

Mississippi Delta found their stride in the second half, mounting a determined comeback that narrowed the gap to just five points with 4:15 remaining. Both teams battled intensely in the closing minutes, with the Trojans cutting the lead to three points in the final minute. However, the Eagles held their composure, sinking clutch free throws to seal the 70-65 victory.

Kelton Jones led the way for Meridian with 17 points, including four three-pointers. Michael James also contributed 15 points, hitting four three-pointers, while Kalifa Ouattara had a standout performance, recording a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
