MCC Swimming & Diving Athletes Earn Top 20 National Rankings, Qualify for NJCAA Nationals

MERIDIAN, Miss. – The Meridian Community College Eagles Swimming & Diving team is making waves on the national stage as several athletes have secured Top 20 rankings in the NJCAA national standings while also qualifying for multiple events at the NJCAA Nationals.

Leading the way is Megan Heggie, who has placed in the Top 20 in five events, with standout performances in the 1000 Free (12th), 1650 Free (12th), 200 Back (15th), 200 Breast (16th), and 400 IM (14th).

Teammate Kyla Goldman has also delivered impressive rankings, securing a 9th-place ranking in the 200 Back and 17th in the 100 Back.

In addition to their rankings, several MCC athletes have qualified for NJCAA Nationals in multiple events:

Megan Heggie – 13 events, including the 50 Free, 1000 Free, 1650 Free, and 400 IM
Kyla Goldman – 9 events, including the 50 Fly, 100 Fly, and 200 Back
Chad Campbell – 3 events, including the 50 Free and 100 Breast
Sydney Cooper – 5 events, including the 50 Free, 50 Breast, and 50 Fly

"This is a fantastic accomplishment for our swimmers," said Wade Heggie, MCC Head Coach. "These rankings and national qualifications showcase the hard work and dedication of our athletes. We are excited to see what they achieve going forward."

The Eagles continue their season with a focus on preparing for the Delta State Statesmen Shootout this weekend in Cleveland, Mississippi.
